The Glebe Snow Generals

For starters, before the winter even commences, we'll have you as well as us sign our simple contract outlining our commitments to you. Once you've joined the snow generals for the season, you'll be assigned a shoveler, whose responsible for your home and up to 1 or 2 others. You'll have the opportunity to meet with them personally to share specific details of your property if desired.

Moving into the winter, every well executed operation begins with planning. As soon as we have adequate info pertaining to the storm(often the day prior), we will send out an email detailing our gameplan including expected shoveling times, measures to take for safety, breaking down the type of snow and it's effects, etc. It's this email that gives you, the client, the chance to reach out with any changes or specific requests you need to help deal with the storm. Need to be out early in the morning? We'll have it shoveled before you wake up. Need us to come twice for guests staying over? We'll arrange it. You get the idea. We are committed to ensuring that each and every client feels comfortable that removing the snow will not be an issue no matter their circumstances. This is our differentiating factor, and is the foundation of our service as a whole.

Next, on the day of the snow, we like to wait until all the snow has fallen to shovel, as is the industry standard. Evidently on snowstorms lasting multiple days, we'll come during the snowfall. Another one of our policies is that generally snow clearance happens at 4pm or after if the snow stops later. This is to work in accordance to students school schedules. as 4pm is the earliest they are able to make it out. That said, as mentioned, if there ever happens to be a time when you'll need the driveway cleared in the morning, we are happy to make arrangements. Also, despite our 4pm clearance time, we are most of the time quicker to remove snow as each employee is responsible for only 1-3 properties instead of entire streets. This brings us to the final step of our clearance.

After service is complete, a large concern is the creation of ridges. We make an attempt to catch the ridges on the first go, but the city often has other ideas. After the snowfall we closely monitor our email, for anybody who receives a ridge, or needs any other kind of cleanup such as if something is missed. In these cases we will be there as soon as possible to clear the remaining snow. This works in accordance with our principles of flexibility and tailoring our service to the needs of each client.
